Sessions & history
Every conversation is saved as a session — review past chats and continue them anytime.
What this is
A session is one ongoing conversation thread with your agent. Every time you chat — in the Control UI or through a connected channel — your messages and the agent's replies are saved automatically as a session. You don't have to remember to save anything.
Browsing and resuming
Open your Control UI and head to the sessions section. From there you can:
- Scroll through past conversations
- Search for a phrase or topic
- Open any session and pick up where you left off — the agent has the full context of that thread
If you start a brand-new chat, it becomes its own session. The agent's memory (the durable facts it knows about you) carries across all sessions; the message-by-message history stays scoped to the session it happened in.
Where history lives
Sessions live on your server — the dedicated instance Beach hosts for you. They stay there until either:
- You delete a session yourself from the Control UI, or
- Your instance is wiped (see Resetting your instance) or your account ends and the data retention window expires (see Data retention).
We don't expire old sessions automatically. If you want to keep five years of chat history, you can.
