API Keys

Connect your AI provider keys to power your OpenClaw agent.

Supported providers

Beach supports any LLM provider that OpenClaw supports. The most common are:

  • Anthropic — Claude models (recommended)
  • OpenAI — GPT-4o, GPT-4, GPT-3.5
  • Google Gemini — Gemini Pro, Gemini Flash

Adding a key

During onboarding, you'll be prompted to paste your API key. You can also update it later from your dashboard settings.

Your API key is encrypted with AWS KMS and stored in SSM Parameter Store. It's scoped to your instance only — no other user or system can access it.

Rotating keys

To rotate a key, simply update it in your settings. The new key takes effect immediately — no restart required.

Bring your own key (BYOK)

Beach never provides LLM API keys. You always bring your own, which means:

  • You control your AI spend directly with your provider
  • Your usage data stays between you and your provider
  • You can switch providers at any time
